Warm greetings to all of you. I am very happy to be able to continuously browse this forum, where there are lots of interesting original photos by excellent photographers. The title of this thread is clear, but if you allow me, I have to go around it a bit. After the last "supposedly big" WIN11 update, my computer crashed.. and wouldn't start anymore. My work from the last years was left there. I only have dozens of pictures left in the backup, from which I will publish flowers from my shorter trips today.
It's a farewell not only to the old year, but also to cameras from Sigma with Foveon sensor (the first 6 photos, the last one is from the new Fuji GFX 100).

Lovely images of flowers.

While the computer may be dead you can still recover your images from the hard disk (or ssd) by removing it from that computer and connecting to your new one. Assuming of course that it isn’t the storage media that is dead.

Lovely images of flowers.

While the computer may be dead you can still recover your images from the hard disk (or ssd) by removing it from that computer and connecting to your new one. Assuming of course that it isn’t the storage media that is dead.

Unfortunately, the old disk that had W11 (and the pictures) cannot be loaded. I gave it to a friend who will try to get everything he can from it. I preferred to install W10 on the new drive and I think I can last a long time with it..

Hey Peter, that's sad to hear about the computer crashing. Hopefully your friend can recover the images. If the drive itself crashed, it can make it a bit tricky. And I still have Windows 10 on my main computer. I bought an HP laptop just to process my timelapses since they are so time consuming, but it's Windows 11 and I hate it. I don't know why Microsoft thought it was good to remove abilities we had, and to stick them behind 3 key presses instead of one. Ugh....

I am glad you do have some photos, these are some really cool looking flowers you captured. #1, 4 and 7 are my favorites.

Thanks Jim. Yes, W11 is "no win". Unfortunately I didn't manage to save all the photos to the backup drive when my W11 and the drive failed..

Rick, in the end, the 5:4 format seems best to me (corrected on the last flower). It is the format that I have always liked the most - on my Pentax 67II .
