The Cigar and Bodes Galaxies

Back at it last night. These were a stack of 30 X 2 minute subs of the Cigar and Bodes Galaxies. No guide scope. Just on my HEQ5 Pro mount with Nikon Z5 and Sigma 60-600mm lens.

The core of Bodes might be a bit too yellow? What happens if you cool down the whole image a bit?

I wish I could get out but I just got to my daughters and the weather all around here in Colorado is not too conducive to being out at night with a Deep Space rig.

Hey Yervant. For sure, one thing I noticed is that Astro can be similar to IR where there is no right or wrong look to an image.

But... I do like your edit better. Going cooler with it helps to pull more color out of the arms of Bode, and it’s core even has more detail.

Either way, you got good results, and good detail out of the Cigar.

Thanks for the tip on the color adjustment. The more I look at it, the more I'm liking it. Except for doing a few Milky Way shots last year, these are my first real attempts at shooting Astro. It's a lot of fun. A lot of work too, but worth every second of it. Especially to see what is out there in the Universe. Many people miss so much incredible views at night.

For sure it's a ton of fun! I have only been doing Deep Space for the last year. I have been shooting the Milky Way for many years now, and have a blast with that too. But there is something really special with the Deep Space and all the weird shapes and colors. It's a challenge to capture, and it just really makes for so much fun.
