The Cliff Above White House

This is kind of at the edge of a Landscape forum topic but most of the scene is landscape so I decided to post it here anyway since it isn't Street photography or a Cityscape.

This image depicts the White House ruins at Canyon de Chelly National Monument. I liked the looming thunderstorm in the backdrop of the scene contrasting with the soaring cliffs of the canyon and the Ancestral Puebloan ruins.

C&C always welcome.

I have always considered these old ruins to be a landscape topic, and this shot is very nice. Nice sky and I love those desert varnished walls.

Really nicely done! When I visited a couple years ago I stayed up on the southern rim and its various overlooks. I plan to get down into the valley floor next time I make it there.
Very cool perspective, and yes the sandstone varnish is beautifully captured!

Very cool Alan. I might crop a bit off the right, or if you had a pano to show more on the right, that would be cool.

This is definitely landscape.

Didn't shoot the scene farther to the right - that includes the parking area for tour trucks and their contents. I will look at some crops since that partial cliff face on the right feels distinctly incomplete.

I love these old ruins such as in Chelly and alos those of Mesa Verde. I've never been down inside, but only looked on the ruins from the rim. Nicely done, Alan: gives a good feel of the place.
