The Energy of the Pacific

I am endlessly fascinated with moving water and wave action along a rugged coastline is one of my favorite photo subjects. This shot was taken in early November along the Oregon coastline between Cape Foulweather and Otter Crest. I love this stretch of the Oregon coast in spite of the fact that there are limited views of the cliffs from the coastline itself. The views from the air out over the water are a wave watcher's delight. Single frame at 70mm.

Pretty dramatic view and captures the energy nicely.
Thanks Jameel - this type of display is why I like to visit the coast during the winter months and especially close to the timing of storms. This shot is from the day after one blew through the area.

almost a yin/yang type of photo. great abstract. the green water in the pacific is beautiful.
Thanks Beth - moving water meets unmoving basalt :) I used burst mode to grab a bunch of captures as the wave hit so I could choose the best part of the impact. The water color can change quite a bit depending on the light angle.
