Back in the 1950's air conditioning wasn't common in Phoenix houses. We had left the windows open in our house while we were at a movie theater and one of those dust storms hit. There wasn't a square inch of the inside of our house that wasn't covered in a layer of dust.
It took weeks. There was a record sitting on a turntable in the house HiFi system (mono in those days) that had almost 1/4" of dust on it.That would be horrible Alan. I can't imagine how hard that would be to clean, if it ever even got completely cleaned.
