The Thunderstorms are picking up along the Rockies and much of Colorado this last week, and look to hopefully increase over this coming week.
This is from last night in Colorado. I had just gotten back to my daughters house after sunset from running at the local nature area, when the lighning started going off. It was too the north, so I jumped back into my truck and headed about 10 miles north until I got to an area of a slight hill and corn, the slight hill helped to block out the lights from the various farms scattered around there.
I had seen 1 bright normal vertical flash of lightning, but then after that they were either just flashes in the clouds or these horizontal strikes close to the horizon. A bit different, and I will take it.
It was getting darker out, I prefer to shoot lightning closer to sunset and late afternoon so it's not so dark out, but I will take what I can get this year.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
