The Line Between Night and Day

On a night when the Milky Way tried to wash out the Milky Way on one end of the night, then there was the sun that decided it needed to rise and then it started to wash out the Milky Way at the end of the night.

This was from 10 days ago, March 23rd up in the Alabama Hills with Cyclops Arch. This was one of the last images with the Milky Way still having reasonable detail and the sky above it still being dark. While at the same time you can tell by the brightness and the coloring of the sky below the Milky Way that the sun was quickly racing to wipe out the night sky.

So that made me think of the Milky Way as a dividing line, at least on this night between Night and Day.

Nice capture to show off the celestial event. Makes a neat transition between the light in the lower left to the darkness in the upper right.

My favorite of all your astro images I've seen!

The day to night fade is amazing!

Big print!

Michael, I really appreciate that! I really liked how it turned out. They old D850 just keeps churning out hits.
