The Milky Way Peeks Through

This is a timelapse I took last Saturday night in the Badlands National Park in South Dakota. The clouds were constantly on and off again. I think it creates a cool effect.

I went back and checked the timestamps, the Milky Way was only out from about 3:15 to 3:30am. So it goes by pretty fast in the timelapse, but it's fun to see. There is also a lot of changing of the color of the night sky during the night, I think that was cool to watch.

The clouds did quite the hide and seek number on the MW display. It almost seemed like they got thicker as a layer once the MW came up.

Thanks Alan. That was my thought too. That as the MW started rising, the clouds did their best to gather up thicker and try to block it.
