The Other Wedge

When Jameel posted his Thread titled The Wedge, immediately the Wedge at Newport Beach jumped into my mind. Please check out Jameel's Wedge shot for context.

So I decided as I am trying to wrap things up here at 1:30 to go archive dive and find a shot of the Wedge at Newport Beach. For those who don't know, it's a super famous spot for bodyboards and just plain old body surfing with no boards at all. The water comes in and creates a curl and dumps so fast, people get injured there all the time. Yet, they keep doing it. The Wedge has these super cool waves that curl so perfectly.

Very nice wave images. And I wasn’t aware of this location. It looks like a place where I’d love to capture some action.

This is the wedge I remember as a kid when my mother's parents lived on Lido Isle in the Newport area. Nice to see the beautiful waves still have that nice curl.
