Oh, man, so much memories down there, I have driven through I-70 many times, this is my favorite stretch. That's the I-70 winding through the Reef in Utah from a cold winter morning last week.

Yep, they did. I think it was worth it, because it lets the public in to some really sweet locations with awesome views.UDOT had to carve up a lot of terrain for this roadway but I do like the resulting view as you head east towards Green River. Neat view of the serpentine path the road takes through here.
I totally agree Craig. But it seems that efficiency over beauty in so many ways. Look at all of the beautiful churches built 200 to 300 years ago, and the sheer beauty of them compared to the box looking buildings most churches are in today.Once upon a time they would design roads that were also beautiful to drive. That seems to have changed in more modern times. Now it's efficiency over beauty, how ridiculous. must be getting old...
That's the best viewpoint on I-70 anywhere though.
You have to be driving east from Salina to see/access this view.I’ve never driven on this stretch of I-70. The closest I got was just west of Green River. Such a cool road regardless!
You need to drive the whole stretch of the I-70. It has about a half dozen view areas, with each one being the equivalent of a mini State Park as the views are so awesome. I probably drive the I-70 a good 8 to 10 times a year, and I am always stopping at the various views.I’ve never driven on this stretch of I-70. The closest I got was just west of Green River. Yep, I have done that a few times, though not at this view point. I have been thinking on doing it though so I could do a timelapse with the light streaks from the cars and trucks at night in it as well.WOAH!! I gotta stop here and shoot here....I mean...can you imagine shooting the light streaks...stars....
I am just getting around to this, Jim. What a neat view. That's the I-70 winding through the Reef in Utah from a cold winter morning last week.

Thanks! Yeah, one of your trips west, you should drop down to the I-70 and take it all the way until it runs into the I-15.almost looks identical to a road i took in iceland. it's just missing a bit of moss. i've never been that far west on i-70, definitely need to add it to my list of drives.
I appreciate that Doug!I am just getting around to this, Jim. What a neat view.
