If you want to see a good Rosette, check out the one that Carlos just posted. NGC 2239 the Rosette Nebula in SHO Hubble palette | Focal World This is what the Rosette looks like when a master is at work with a mono Astro camera.
Now mine? I will put this in the miracle category. I certainly didn't expect anything with the 73% moon. My intent that night was only to take test shots where I was watching the tracking and guiding on the new Astro Mount, the Gem28 I had gotten for Christmas. And there was no sign of the Rosette when I started processing, that's how deep the info was in each image I stacked. (80 images)
Like my Orion image I took that night, the main difference I can see is the lack of color outside of the red Ha data. I am amazed I got this truly, as the last time I had tried it with a moon not even this bright, I couldn't salvage anything from what I shot.
This looks different then my past Rosette images, and I think that's kind of cool.
So I am a happy camper!
