The Storm

This is another in the series of lightning strikes I was able to capture in Blue Valley in Utah. I did this one on the way out as I was being chased by the storm. I was able to get ahead of the storm by a few minutes and stopped again to set up my cameras before the rain came.

Thanks Ben. I agree the cloud really looks awesome and could carry the image by itself, but then in the midst of this huge cloud there is the lightning storm. There is something cool about that for me.

I am in the me too camp for that cloud - that is an awesome looking thunderhead. The lightning is just eye candy below it.

Yeah, that's why I titled it "The Storm" as it was the cloud that grabbed me, it was why I framed it this way. I don't recall what direction this was, but I had the other 2 cameras pointing towards the main lightning but I set up this camera to capture the storm cloud. The lightning was just frosting.

The clouds do make this image but the lightning definitely adds to it.
