The Uplifted Formations at Shore Acres

There are a lot of trails along the cliffs between Sunset Bay and Shore Acres near Charleston Oregon with some neat views of the uplifted geological formations along the edge of the Pacific. This is one of those views looking south towards the Shore Acres State Park facilities. The area does get some of the more monumental breakers along the Oregon coastline but this wasn't one of those days.

One of my favorite places of the entire west coast USA. The rocks to the north of the parking area are photogenic as hell, looking like they were just taken from SE Utah and dumped there. The rocks seem to be attacking the waves as much as the other way 'round, this view shows that perfectly! Fascinating area.

Thanks Michael - when I had an RV stayed at the Sunset Bay State Park campground on quite a few occasions and wandered the trails that follow the cliffs between the campground and Shore Acres. Delightful place for photo opportunities including the view shown here.
