The Web They Weave

I love to find an area abundant with garden spiders every late summer into fall. These were from 2 different places last season.

Wow, that web in the first with the dew drops is great, but the second one holds my attention.

I love web dew shots like your first one here. A common sight in the Pacific NW during the wet months but I don't always have a camera to shoot them. Nice symmetrical shape to the web and a good viewing angle. The second shots suffer from being posted next to the first image - they are both very good spider closeups but the dew shot steals my attention.

Couldn't get the spider in that 1st shot any stronger. I was shooting with a 100-400 under difficult angles of contortion.

Nicely done, Debbie! The 1st is a "wow!" with all the dew drops, but I really like the spirals of silk in #2.

They are also called "lightning spiders". You will often find their woven lightning bolts as part of their webs.
