Those Wasps?

I used a different lens this sunny morning, concentrating on one sugar-coated leaf, Wasps were prevalent and the hoverflies attack them, notice the difference in the yellow? The Wasps fly with their legs hanging down, the flies don't. The first one is a Fly, and the second one is a Wasp. Waiting now for an overcast day.

Interesting to see them side by side like this. From any kind of distance I would not have identified them as different species and would have gone out of my way to add even more distance. I readily admit I am not much of a wasp fan.

Superb photos, Jon. I hate yellow jackets because they attack my hummingbirds

Having watched Yellow Jackets I have concluded:
1. Yellowjacket wants the hummer's food and will fight for it.
2. If the Yellowjacket is on the flower, He will launch an attack when hummers get within 2 feet.
3. If the hummingbird is feeding, the Yellowjacket will launch an attack from far away.
4. Yellow Jackets will sting for no reason at all
5. Yellow Jackets have no concept of personal space
6. Yellow Jackets are dicks
