Thank you Alan. That's because your Robins belongs to the thrush family and the European Robin belongs to the Chat family.I would not have recognized your variant of a robin at all. Robins on this side of the pond are much larger birds with more of a red breast. I like the markings on the Blue Tit as well.
Thank you Jim, all birds lose their tail feathers during their moult. Birds do tend to become more secretive during their moult, probably because they are more vulnerable to predation due to not being able to fly so well.I like that Blue Tit. I didn't realize that Tobins lost their tails. Do lots of birds do this? It must make it hard to fly.
