Three sisters fibre art.

My friend Lynn, is an accomplished fibre artist who recently took a felt sculpture class on making contemporary dancers. She chose to honour a sister that passed away in the last year by making a set of three sisters using the techniques she learned in the class. I became involved when she asked about bases for the three dancers. We chose to use an Autralian Banksia pod that I brought back many years ago. We cut the pod into three pieces, cleaned them up, applied finish and mounted the dancers. It was a really fun project and Lynn is very happy with the results.

Very interesting pieces - nice work with both the bases as well as the photography of them. The dancers are fascinating - your friend is an accomplished artist.

That's such incredible workmanship on her part. That's so cool that Lynn honored her sister in this way. If those pieces were for sale i could see them selling for 10's of thousands of dollars. Though I know nothing about that kind of art, but they compare well to the pricey art I have seen in many galleries.

That's so cool you could contribute the bases, they make for a great foundation and add a neat layer to the art. And of course a great job capturing them. Love the lighting in these, so well done.
