Thursday’s Task

Canyons are a little thin on the ground on this side of the pond but the Gorges du Verdon probably fits the bill. A 15 miles long limestone gorge up to 2,300ft deep with a tourquise river flowing through it. I photographed it in very difficult light.

Earlier I had taken a photograph of my wife with the gorge in the background, better light and a better viewpoint. Why I didn't take a pano from here showing the entire gorge remains a mystery.

Not all canyons are out in open desert countryside :)

Ken, I really like first two images—gorge-ous! It’s hard to choose a favorite between them. Your waterfall image is also very well done—a beautiful capture.

Alan, I really love the Snake River landscape––a beautiful scene and my favorite. The Bryce Canyon and the Upper Antelope Canyon images are also among my favorites you’ve shared—excellent examples for this task.

Some great images with depth & mood. I suspect you didn't take the pano cause your wife was the object of your attention.
