Thursday’s Task: Festive photos. Images that evoke the holiday spirit, celebration, or wintry season. I hope every member enjoys this Christmas holiday. I will not post Thursday’s Task next week as it follows the day after Christmas.

My examples below:

A rare December snow of noteworthy accumulation one year that added to our Christmas joy.

Here are a few images that are winter/festive in character.

I thought this White-winged Crossbill on this spruce tree looked like a Christmas card image.

Trent, I love all four of your beautiful and appropriate images! The white winged crossbill is definitely holiday postcard worthy—wonderful compositon! I love the three deer posing for another holiday card—very, very nice! Both the landscape images are beautiful as well—I love the winter sunrise capture, beautiful color. Thank you for sharing!

Snow isn't common in my area but the winter sun angle is a major feature of this time of year. This is a sunrise view of Mt. Hood showing the sun almost as far south as it gets:

Alan, I love the Mt. Hood sunrise colors captured—incredible image. Both of the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. St. Helens panoramas are gorgeous with the latter my favorite! Thank you for sharing all of these.

Jameel, the snoozing polar bear is GREAT! I love this image––obviously he is well-insulated to be comfortable lying on the snow. The Mt. Rainier is my favorite of your two wintry landscapes––a perfect capture. I do love the snowy neighborhood image too––the snowy branched tree and their blue shadows across the snow creates an interesting composition. Thank you of sharing.

Dan, thank you for sharing these Yosemite images––quite a variety of subjects too! Two of my favorites are your second and fourth landscapes––perfect composition in both. Very nice! I love the snowy abstract third image––my personal favorite of all. I like the five fallen leaves too, glad you shot and shared them!

I have around 10 good images I rotate for Christmas cards. That's like 10 years! LOL!

I shoot this spot at various times of the year.

Just liked the sheep out in the cold on their own.

This one is my favorite because I actually shot it up at Mesa Arch on Christmas morning when there were no people at all and I was waiting for friends to arrive. Now these days, chances of being there at any time of year and having to yourself are about zero.

Craig, each would definitely be a beautiful Christmas card! The Ride Home and Solitude of the Season are gorgeous landscapes and Christmas is perhaps my favorite—at the moment. Mesa Arch definitely looks different with the snow—and no photographers! I also love Heading Home—and I hope the sheep were. Beautiful images all and of course the titles are perfect. Thank you for sharing these.
