Its hard to take a landscape image in the Pacific Northwest without a bit of vegetation :)

Alan, great “veggies”! 😊 I especially favor both Columbia River Gorge landscapes—both are well captured. I love all the green intricate curves of the Silver Falls State Park. Nice. Speaking of curves—the overlapping hills of Palouse is a truly a special capture. Very nice! The Japanese Garden image is another interesting composition from this site—thank you for sharing this—and all your images this week.

Its hard to avoid vegetation in landscape around here. And even in places where it isn't prevalent I tend to look for it to add to the image. That said here are a few.

Jameel, truly beautiful images you’ve shared—and thank you for doing so. All are well captured with good composition. The colorful trees and flowers certainly elevate the aesthetics in each. The Capitol Reef image with the prominent red rocks bordered by the green leafed trees is a favorite. Nice. I also love the Mt.St. Helens image with the colorful flowered foreground and majestic mountains beyond—my favorite! The Grand Tetons image is so wonderful contrasting the blue mountains bordered by the foreground of autumn orange trees! Very nice indeed. I also love the Provo UT image’s rich warm colors, and the blue sky adds an appealing contrast.

Ha-ha! I seem to be a little short of luscious vegetation around here...
Sometimes I try and use whatever is there as a lead in to the landscape...
My plants are all mean though...

Wow!!! I love each—and all of these splendid images Craig! I especially love “Desert Bloom” for the swirling white tendrils surrounding the cactus center. I also love “The Anchor” composition at Dead Horse Point State Park. “Conducting the Orchestra” is an inspired name for this composition—very nicely seen. I also like “A Utah Bouquet” for the stark composition framing the flowering cactus against the bare rock background—another well seen scene. I love the image “Quilted Color Cacophony” for the warm autumn colors framed against the blue hills and sky. “Unforgiving Earth” is a nice contrast of flowering plants and the arid cracked foreground—nice wide angle composition too. “Defending One’s Turf” is another composition with a beautiful cactus foreground contrasting the barren rocky landscape beyond. Very nice too. The untitled composition from above of the delicate flowers growing from the cracked earth creates a discordant but satisfying image. I also love “Close to the Edge” for the beautiful composition of warm light on a portion of the distant red rock and the foreground of interesting “vegetation.” Of course, the well-named “The Corkscrew” is another well framed composition too. Very nice! Thank you for sharing all these special images with us Craig.

Wow John this is a great subject and difficult one at the same time. I have some type of vegetation in most of my landscape shots, so I picked a few that I especially like:

Larry, thank you so much for sharing ALL these beautiful images! I like the Long Lake Outlet composition—especially your camera viewpoint which strengthens this composition. Very nice! The Kebler Pass image is a colorful autumn landscape—love the orange and green tree layers with the majestic mountain anchoring the composition. Very nice too! The RMNP image is another pretty scene you’ve captured well. Love the white of the snow, the tree trunks, and the white capped mountains beyond. The Road to Gothic is a beautiful wildflower capture. Very nice too. The Rock Creek Park is another favorite composition—love the colors and water streaming over the foreground rocks. My personal favorite is your Red Mountain Pass capture—gorgeous in color and composition! Very nice!
