Very cool subject and some really nice examples. I do have a few shots that will fit this but I will confess that I don't wander around with my french curve drafting template to compose my shots :)

I didn't have much trouble finding some curves for this one:

Alan, excellent “curve” inspired images you’ve shared—thank you! The higher aerial perspective with the drone certainly benefits this landscape “Task.” I especially like the Siuslaw River and the China Creek images. (I must ask: why is the China Creek black?) And the curvy fungi in the Trilium Trail is another well seen scene. Very nice! And the arch in Petra—with a moon is a beautiful image too. Again thanks for sharing!

Craig, thank you for sharing each of these beautiful images—with curves. I was glad to see your first image, “The Road to the River” an inspired choice. Is that Moki Dugway? I also love “Labyrinth” for the captured light across portions of the landscape, the snow, and the wide angle perspective. Very nice. Beautiful color contrast of blue and orange in “Canyon of the Colorado.” Very, very nice. I also love the “Road to Nowhere” for its composition and beautiful capture of an inviting scene to explore. “Around the Bend” is another perfect composition with the huge rock precariously pitched towards the river below. I hope it remained stable during your visit! A beautiful landscape you have successfully captured. Again, thanks for these wonderful images—and titles!

I know that it is man made but there are lots of curves. Point du Garde 1st C AD Roman aqueduct

Ken, thank you for posting these inspired choices for this week’s Task. In your first image of the aqueduct—many curves and doubled with their reflections. Very nice. I love the Bamburgh beach composition—a gorgeous capture and perhaps my favorite. The River Gelt is another good composition, the water leading the eye along the river into the trees beyond. Nice. I love the waterfall image too—beautiful composition of whites and greens. Perfect in all respects. The grasses and their reflection is a perfect minimalist image. Love it so much. Another well seen scene!

Jameel, thank you for sharing these very beautiful compositions—well chosen for this week’s Task. The curvy road is interesting to follow throughout the Escalante UT landscape—very nice. The Death Valley composition is a beautiful capture of this austere yet colorful composition. Love it! I like the Banff and the golf course images with the dark curves revealed against the snowy landscapes. The Dunes image in Death Valley is perhaps my most favorite—love the minimalist composition and limited color palette. Great image! The drone image of Diablo Lake is another beautiful “simple scene” composition. Nice. Another favorite is the Oregon Coast capture—an outstanding composition too. Thank you for sharing each of these well chosen images for this week’s Task, Jameel.

China Creek is actually clear all the way down to just above the beach but it does carry a lot of organic material in it. The creek is a lot bigger with more water than you see when it gets to the beach and a lot of the water is absorbed into the sand and gravel leaving the organic material on the surface which appears black from above.
