We found 3 lion cubs and 3 adult females. This youngster found this discarded bottle & decided it was the best toy in the world. Unfortunately, it's a bottle for insecticide, a concentrate for killing ticks. It's mixed with water & put on cattle. In the Masai Mara, there are community lands for the Masai, who run their cattle there. Our guide, Ping, drove quickly towards the cub to scare it into dropping the bottle. Ping then opened his door so he could lean out & scoop up the bottle. The cub really didn't like having its toy taken away and made a lot of distressed sounds. Mom was watching, but by her behavior, she obviously thought that Ping had taken her cub. She went to that spot (we had moved away), sniffed around, looking & acting stressed. Eventually, she rejoined the other females & cubs, who comforted her & she found that her cub was there.
