Tiger Lilies

These tiger lilies were under the canopy of an aspen forest in the mountains above Lake Tahoe.
The colors ranged from a deep crimson to a very light pale orange and they stole the show amongst the other flowers in the forest. Taken with a Nikon 70-300 at f/5.6.

This is really cool Kurt, what a beautiful flower.

Not sure which Nikon70-300mm you have, but I know I sure like mine. For an inexpensive lens it is super sharp. I have stopped using my expensive 70-200mm f2.8 in favor of the 70-300mm.

Beautiful image.

Interesting your tight lilies face outwards - much easier to shoot them that way. The ones I see in the Cascades point the flower down making it harder to get a good portrait.
