Too Far?

As usual, this is a single image where I have manipulated the colors. Then I 'sliced and diced' the image to have 2 lines of symmetry. Maybe that's too many?

It feels like a bit of ying yang where the pattern on the left feels like it projects from the viewing plane and the right side feels like it has depth. The two side seem to compete for my attention but for some reason I can't put my finger on it works.
