Turmoil in the Heart - IC1805
A clear night emerged August 16 2024, just 3 days before the full moon, 88% illuminated. Transparency was quite poor but some clearing came along after I got started. I decided to use the C11 Rasa and aimed at the target which was directly opposite the moon. The August full moon sits quite low on the southern side of my sky. So it all worked out very well. I was surprised by the result. Enjoy!

Stunning view of this DSO. For the casual observer this looks like a highly turbulent area of deep space although I imagine it actually isn't.

Awesome job working with that moon! It is lower, so that helps, but still great job capturing this!

Spectacular result. OOdles of wonderful detail coming out on this one. The fast RASA has helped to go very deep on this. I do notice a plethora of white stars - have you ever considered taking separate short exposures (like very short with the RASA) for the stars, and stretching them separately to preserve some of the stars colors? Since most folks these days remove the stars during nebula processing anyway it is not much more work, and probably only a handful of extra minutes of data collection with that RASA to get the data. Just a thought...
