Twinkling Stars

In between shooting Deep Space objects for most of the night and Sunrise, I wanted to shoot some wide field stars with my Sigma 14mm f1.8 lens at Joshua Tree NP a few days ago. I composed this wide to include the bush on the left. Most often that's composed out, but I wanted to go wider and so I shot it with it in. I figured I could always crop it out or crop some of it out later. But for now, I have left it wide.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

This scene certainly works for me and I don't mind the bush on the left at all. Which direction are you facing in this frame? Is the light pollution coming from L.A. or is this morning light creeping into the scene?

Thanks so much Alan.

It’s not from LA, way too far away with a mountain range or two in the way. That could be from Palm Springs. The clouds make the light pollution more evident then it normally would be seen.

The combination of stars and light clouds makes for a nice mood to the scene. Never been to this location, looks like this is one of the iconic scenes from there.
