U.S. 395 Maintenance in the Winter

I went on a field trip for work this week to document cleanup on U.S. 395 from that huge storm in the Eastern Sierra. Along with all the snowplow action, I found a car that had been abandoned during the storm. The CHP officers at the scene told me they were waiting for the tow truck to arrive.

Looks rather white - and a lot of it. I like the view in the last image. Interesting to consider what the backstory was for the driver of the stuck car....
A plausible explanation would be that this person underestimated the storm, overestimated their car and their driving skills, and got stuck.

kinda guessed at that part - how the driver got out of the area was what I was wondering.
Hopefully they lived near by and called someone to pick them up? I sure hope they don't wipe off the snow and find a frozen person inside.

Exactly - if you can't drive because of the snow you certainly aren't going to walk anywhere without x-country skis or snowshoes.
