Uprising

Does it ever stay cold enough to build up an ice tower downwind? It looks like Jellystone in Redrocks :)

Bummer about the number of tracks in front but I can certainly see why they would be there.

Really sweet Craig! Love that spray and the contrast with the blue sky works well.

Is this man made or natural?

THANKS GUYS! And thanks for the FEATURE POST!

Yes, I wasn't going to post it here due to the tracks, but on the other hand, it's extremely rare to have the geyser even erupt these days (seems to be fizzling out). And have snow too.

Is this man made or natural?
Like most of these things in Utah, these cold water geysers are created by old miner drill holes. Not sure what makes the pressure build up.

Very interesting place - reminds me of the old faithful.
Yes, but hardly "faithful!" I'm sure I'd gone by there at least 50 times and waited for an eruption which never happened. And then one day, you go around the corner and it's just spouting off so you go for it. And also you need to be sure not to get too close with the camera because that minerals in the spray could damage your gear, or leave permanent white spots on it.
