Really strange formations. Looks like salt or calcium formations on red oxide sandstone. Or snowmobile tracks

For such an intimate scene, there really is a lot going on in this image. Beautiful sets of horizontal lines, the separating lines for the three layers and contrasting colors. It takes a photographer with a well tuned eye for the small intimate scenes to capture and image like this. I look at this image and tell myself that I must remember to shoot more small scenes, but the reality is that you have to be able to "see" these small beauties. Wonderfully done, Alan!
