I mentioned to Jim yesterday that we had a lot of dogwoods that were going bonkers much later than their usual bloom time and here is a quick sampler of some along the streets in my area.

This one is unique for how ridiculously large the blossoms are. This flower is about 4-5 inches across.

More normal sized blooms but lots of them:

Wow! Those are packed in there tight! I am glad you posted these. Although one of the images I have prepped for processing is one where there is a bunch of Dogwood blooms that I thought were pretty tightly packed in, but it's nothing compared to just how packed the Dogwoods are in your images.

Thanks Jim - I honestly thought that the dogwoods up here had gone light on blooms this year until this last week or so but the ones that waited are just going nuts. I have walked past the tree in the last image all the time for years and have never seen it put out blooms like this before.

Thanks Jameel - only the top image had the giant blooms and the rest are normal sized blossoms.

The tree that big bloom is on is striking from a block or more away. No way I was going to walk past that one without grabbing a shot of one of the blooms
