View over Echo Lake

It has been very cold in Denver the past few days with over night temps in single digets ..brrr. I sit with my computer and think of summer days, then search old files for warm weather images. This shot was taken in July a few years ago on a trip to Mt Evans. We stopped for lunch at the Echo Lake lodge. From the lodge we had a nice view of Echo Lake and the mountains and clouds in the background. After lunch we grabbed a few shots of the evergreen forest, the lake and the mountains and clouds in the background. A nice warm summer day! ;)

Hard to stay warm when it gets that cold. Yuck. I like the summertime clouds over the mountains and the lake in this scene.

Hi Alan it is supposed to 'warm' up to 50 degrees over the weekend with sunshine (might feel like spring!). ;)
Thanks for the comments about the image, appreciated! :)

Super cool Larry! I like this a lot, though I would crop it to a pano format and crop the ground off to the bottom of where the trees start.

My grandkids are sending me photos of all of their snow up in Greeley. Did you get any?

Yep we got about 6 inches in our yard. It was the first significant snow of the year, we need the moisture! :)

Larry, very nice image, good to see snow capped mountains—even in July!
Thank you John for the nice comments, appreciated! ;)

Most year we can ski until June or july at a couple of the ski areas. Arapahoe Ski Area usually has swimming suit ski feast on the 4th of July each year. Crazy stuff! :)
