Walking Through Paradise

I've never been to your PNW and am amazed at the primordial atmosphere that's just begging for the appearance of a dinosaur. A beautiful scene, captured with excellent motion... Mike

Hey Alan, this is nice. It's an area I haven't hiked in really. I have been to Paradise a bunch, but haven't really done anything along the creek.

Delightful scene, Alan! Can easily feel the terrain here, love the diagonals.
The diagonals on the far shore are a good indicator of how steep the trail is too.

Yeah - I grew up in the desert amongst saguaros and teddy bear cholla cacti in Arizona and was almost overwhelmed the first time I saw the PNW forests. I ultimately moved up here and have been overcompensating with my camera ever since :D

I have wondered around Paradise, mostly above the lodge, this is just wonderful.

This part of the Wonderland Trail is down near the Cougar Rock Campground where I was staying so was walking distance from camp. I wanted to go back there this fall but that ended up not working out before the campground closed for the season.

Nice image, Alan. I can see that hiking through this thicket is not easy.
Going cross country is pretty difficult in most of the PNW woods but I wasn't exactly slashing my way through the woods with a machete. The trails in the park are well maintained. This is just upstream from that shot of the creek.
