Last call for waterfalls in 2025 :)

My waterfall for today is from a trip into the coastal mountains in late October. These are Upper Kentucky Falls along Kentucky Creek upstream from where it joins with the North Fork of the Smith River. While there had been recent rains the falls were still at a fairly low flow rate compared to what they probably look like right now in the midst of our rainy season. I prefer the more delicate flows like this as it emphasizes all the delicate cascades as opposed to a giant firehose with few details.

Pile on with whatever you have depicting falling water.

This is the first glimpse of Proxy Falls you see from the trail as you approach. You then descend about 100 feet on an improvised trail that puts you at creek level, where you then boulder hop up to the falls over wet, mossy rocks. Good times!

I love this view of those falls and the misty/cloudy atmospherics at the top. The last time I visited there it was raining too hard for me to get this shot and I could only do head on shots near the base of the falls.
