Waterfall Wednesday 2/19/2025

My falls for today are from a stretch of unnamed rapids/falls along my favorite waterfall trail that follows Sweet Creek in the Oregon Coast Range. From a visit last fall.

Pile on with whatever falling water you have

Stockghyll Force is a waterfall near Ambleside in Cumbria. I have photographed it before but as we were staying nearby I took a walk up to photogrsph it. Low water levels but enough to produce pleasing images. It is easier to photograph in the winter with no foliage.

Handy having the Tamron 28-200 as I could pick out interesting sections.

This looks like some nice terrain for good waterfalls with the steep drop-offs. I really like the close in view with the telephoto zoom and the dark rocks. Looking forward to seeing more of this place.

Nice view of these falls. I need to wander back up there to see what's left these days. I haven't been up that trail since the fire.

You had some nice light for this shot of the base of these falls. I have shot this before but had direct sunlight on the falls and too much spray at the bottom for a result like this. This has an almost delicate mood to it that brings out the contrast of the water with the color of the rocks at the bottom.
