Waterfall Wednesday 8/20/2025

My waterfall for today is an older shot I dug out of my archive after seeing @Michael13's infrared shot of Latourell Falls. This scene is a 720nm Black & White infrared shot of Sweet Creek Falls taken with a Canon 5D MkII converted to 590nm IR combined with a 720nm filter. Normally the basalt bedrock in this area is the darkest thing in the scene but there is so much moss on the basalt it takes on a much lighter tone in Infrared.

Yep, sometimes a big splotch of yellow lichen will also cover the basalt - it can be tricky to have detail in both the bright foliage and the rocks. You did good here!
