What is it?

Sometimes our eyes fool us or should I say the photographer fools us!

Is this a large monolith in the desert SW, something small or as a good photo buddy suggested, possibly from a page in a Dermatology textbook!

Oh man! I thought for sure it was a large scene while I was reading your text. But then as I scrolled down, it looked like it was a small scene. Now as I scroll across it, you have caused the left side of my brain to get into an argument with the right side...

I was leaning a large scale image, but... then I think it's a small one... ugh...

Without ready any other posts, I just assumed it was an image of ~5ft wide area piece of ground. It's an intriguing image that i've come back to look at several times over the past few days.

Taken at the Painted Hills near Mitchel Oregon. The rock was placed there, the area is small.

This looks like a scene along the Painted Cove nature trail at the north end of the Painted Hills. I didn't take the same shot but do have closeups of some of the same soils except with flowers from right near where you shot this.
