So what is on your Christmas list this year? What is it that you hope Santa or a loved one, or maybe even from yourself do you hope to get?

My hope would be for a Nikon D850.... :)

The odds are not looking too good on that at this moment though as it may not be in the budget. So I have to think up of some less expensive alternatives. So far, I am drawing a blank.

For the first time in many years my list is empty. I got a new printer, high end monitor and computer last year, this year I only hope to be able to get out for some photo trips. The gear that might tempt me is not yet on the horizon.

You are kind of in the same boat I was in for the past two years - wishing I could just go out and use what I already have. My take on major gear like a new camera body is that I need to prove to myself I can handle what I have well enough to consider new toys first.

For Stocking stuffers I could use a few new batteries as I have been wearing out my Nikon ones. Oh, and some new larger/faster SD cards...

I am planning on heading out after New Years. Was thinking on going up to Banff, but then thinking the money I would spend on that would be much better served in helping to get a D850....

My gear far outpaces my skills, so nothing gear wise. However been too tied up lately to go out shooting, so a trip or two come late Jan to Feb. DV and Yosemite on my list so far.

Rain,RAIN, PLEASE. The situation in Santa Barbara now is so bad. Raging fires for 12 days, having to wear respirator masks outdoors all the time, My little doggie is a mess, and the entire city is covered in ash that blows around all over you. Everyone is staying indoors as much as possible. No cyclists, no running, all schools are now closed for the rest of the year (have been for over a week already). Only a good rain will wash us off and none in the two week forecast. Horrible.

Oh Wow Jeffrey! That is really bad looking.

Well, here is hoping you guys get some rain. I know we were going to head up to Oxnard this weekend for a bit, but I better check the conditions perhaps before driving up there.

Jim, I have not ventured south of SB since the fire event. There is still burning in Ventura and Fillmore. I can't say the wind direction right now, but check out a satellite image or report. I doubt it is clear.
