Why Did the Bear Cross the Road?

Fill in your own Punchline. :)

Now this one was pretty crazy. I had stopped in a pull out and was taking video and photos of that Dogwood tree you see in the image. I was there probably a good 20 minutes. When I was done, I walked back to my truck which was maybe 100 feet away, as I was taking my cameras off (I always use my neckstraps), I glanced back to where the Dogwoods were and saw the bear starting to cross the road. I grabbed my Nikon Z8 with the 50-400mm lens on it raised it took about 6 shots as it crossed the road and then it was gone in the brush, never to be seen again. (I went over and looked for it)

So I am guessing with the timing, that while I was standing their videoing and taking photos, that the bear not very far away hiding and waiting for me to move away. It's too bad I hadn't spotted him hiding behind a tree or brush. But at least I did see him and get a few quick photos of it for the grandkids to see.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

The bear was being polite and not photobombing your scene :)
Ha ha.... I wish he had been a little less polite! Could you imagine how cool my video would be of the Dogwoods if partway through it, a bear slowly walks through the scene? Oh man!

It was probably thinking, "Is that guy still there? Oh, good, he finally left, now I can go on with my day."

Ha ha.... that's probably what he was thinking. I went back through the video I captured from there and looked carefully to see if I could spot him in the background, but I didn't see any bears poking their heads out.

it probably smelled a fox, but couldn't see one of those furry red snack packs.
