It’s Winged Wednesday, and I’d like to share some interesting and colorful bird photos. Thanks for commenting and posting to Winged Wednesday!

Twas the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and all through my house, peace and quiet reign. For the first time in 50 years, my bride and I are planning Thanksgiving dinner—just the two of us. She asked me what I wanted for dinner tomorrow, and I replied: an open-faced turkey sandwich with gruyere, basil, and cranberries. We won’t have the usual parade of dishes: salmon log, salad, stuffing, yams, and a hundred other indulgences that make you swear off eating until 2025.

Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and plenty of delicious food!

Colorful collection indeed - I really like the colors in the Blue Dacnis image as well as your yard bird oriole. Neat details in the whole set.

My usual M.O. for Thanksgiving is to cook up a pair of Cornish game hens instead of a turkey. I used to stuff them and roast them but bailed on the extra work and now just smoke them out on the grill with apple wood.

I'm taking the opposite approach to noteworthy colours. Thanksgiving has long past in Canada but I do have some Wild Turkey images and another noteworthy 'face a mother can love" bird.

A really nice image of this Sedum and bees Alan. The pastels of the flowers are beautiful. My Sedum is under about two feet of snow after two major winter blizzards over the last week.

Trent, I know Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving a little earlier than us, but I hope your plate is always as full as nature’s bountiful harvest! That said, I think we can agree that turkey is a much better dinner choice than turkey vultures—though I’ll admit, pizza might spark a fun Thanksgiving food debate. Happy feasting, my friend.
