My contribution for today's Winged Wednesday are strange looking birds in my humble opinion.

I have seen a few Smooth-billed Ani in Florida but I had to go to Columbia South America for this photo.

White-faced ibis photographed at Lake Pleasant, Arizona

This is a juvenile greater roadrunner. Looks prehistoric to me, but he's actually begging for food from his father

Awesome shots, Eric. I'm partial to the king vulture.

I'm not equipped to capture birds in flight. But I am equipped to take a duck portrait if she wanders within two feet of me. This was taken in Bishop City Park in the evening a few months ago.

What an interesting concept Eric. You really nailed it with your choices and excellent images. I completely changed what I was going to post and went through my images to see what I could come up with. One could get quite philosophical about what is strange. I found I was drawn to birds that did not quite fit the image of my 'normal'.
The turkey group came out on top for 'strange looks'. Here are my picks.

Wow - I can't really compete with these specimens for strange birds but can make a simple offering of some Oyster Catchers hanging out at the edge of the surf enjoying the lunch buffet.

This is a superb portrait of a juvenile, male mallard.
