My contributions to today's Winged Wednesday are brought to you by the color yellow. The following South American birds have significant yellow in their plumage.

The yellow-eared parrot is an endangered parrot of the Colombian Andes. They were thought to be extinct until eighty parrots were discovered in 1999. Most of their habitat was destroyed to grow coffee.

Common Tody-flycatcher is a tiny, somewhat warbler-like flycatcher of tropical lowlands.

I'm just coming off an active Covid infection so have been limited to my yard. I went to my compost pile and got down close and personal for a couple of these.

Fruit flies of the Drosophilinae group were in abundance and reproducing as I watched.

This Ichneumonid Wasp was sitting on my white gate. It needed a little cleaning in Photoshop. I don't keep my gate that clean!

A pigeon building a nest from April this year. Perhaps not the most photogenic bird but it just reminded me of the dove with olive branch images. Deep prime doing its thing again. Ken

I like the first image so applied Topaz sharpen to it and it did crisp up the head and neck a little, whether it is visible at 1200px is open to question but it is visible full sized. Ken

I'm not really familiar with this species. I know it's not a North American bird. I suspect it's a common woodpigeon.
