Oh my goodness Eric. Those shots are really amazing. Such rich colours. Beautiful.

My contributions are from a recent outing at a local park near Saskatoon on the South Saskatchewan River.
Sandihill Cranes gather by the thousands on the islands in the river as they make their way south for the great migration.
At one point I came out of a bush into an open area and was looking around for a couple of minutes. I turned my head and noticed a hawk in a tree quite close to me. It had seen me but just sat there. I slowly raised my camera and started shooting. It turned its head as if to say which side is my best for a portrait. Then it took off towards me. These moments are so powerful and one reason why I enjoy birding so much. I think it is a Sharp-shinned Hawk but open to correction if it is a Cooper's.
Which one Eric???

Awesome photos, Trent. I agree it's a Sharpie. I envy those closeups. Love the sandhill cranes too

I was taking flower pix at a local park and garden. I walked over to the lake in the park and spotted a blue Heron fishing near the bank. I only had my 105 mm macro lens with so I walked down a path near the bank of the lake to see if I could get closer to the bird. I was able to get this series of images before the critter decided to fly away, ;)

You stumbled across a Great Blue heron. Excellent study. That 100 mm macro makes a great portrait lens. Sometimes you can get quite close to these herons.
