Makes an interesting composition when you have this many bare branches to play around with.

It was a cloudy day so I was able to do this without the shadows and specular highlights getting in the way. They maintain an amazing amount of color in the winter - I toned this down a bit as you wouldn't think that much color would be in a dormant plant.

So are you pretty much snowbound at this point or is that just at higher elevations?

I have about 3 inches at my house but it's coming in pretty heavy up top. They will probably get 8-9 feet or so in the upper reaches.

I was wondering how you were doing up there. Glad you aren't getting too much, but those passes, they may not open for a week or two.
I really like the look of this Kurt. It's amazing how you find these.

Thanks, Jim. I had flat light, which for some reason makes scene like this stand out even more. Kinda weird.
