Almost a sparse crowd for that location. Once upon a time you could grab a spot in the elevated viewing area and have an unfettered view of the Beacon and the Zabriskie point hills but anymore that view nets you a seemingly endless view of photographer butts. Rare to see a viewer without a tripod there.

Thanks Alan, I suppose the non-photographers remember the days they could visit without tripping over tripods ...
I like the golden hues when early light hits the hills.
Yep, it's great to be there and watch the light move closer and closer to the viewing area. And the colors!

Super cool Michael. I like how you timed this with them just out of the shadow. Sunrise is a fun time to be up there.
