Yellowstone NP - Eye's on You Geyser

From a week ago with my middle Granddaughter in Yellowstone NP. This one is called Ledge Geyser, and I could see why they named it that. But it also to me really looks like an "Eye", so I could call it the Eye's on You Geyser. :)

All comments are welcome,

Jim

I like the aqua hue to the water. Looks rather tranquil in this scene - does it erupt often? The lack of surrounding vegetation suggests it's not dormant.

I agree with your observation. But from what I had read I don't think any of the geysers in this basin seem to be erupting anymore except for 1 geyser and I wasn't able to confirm how often it erupts. So I wonder if from past eruptions if there is some mineral content in the rocks that keeps the plants away? Because now that you mention it, huge area's of the basin don't have vegetation, especially around the geysers and pools.
