I am most active on FB, and I think most of you guys are on as my friends. I don't have a huge friends base on there, I had this old fashioned notion that any friends I had on there were really friends... :) Of course, that doesn't help me from a photography standpoint really.

Now, I would like to create an Instagram account, and use that to drive my photography side. So I guess I would be even later then Kyle was to Instagram.

Lol...digital dumpster. I chose to use Flickr long ago because it seemed like the only image hosting service that would not degrade image quality when I hotlinked, including downsized hotlink photos.

I have always liked Pbase, and I have a ton of photos hosted there. But mainly I have used it over the years more for a place to upload my finished web version photos to see what they look like in a web environment before posting them into a forum.

There is a lot of truth to Jeffreys description of Flickr, but then on the other hand I have more then 1 person I know who scored book or calendar deals because the publishers found their work on Flickr. Sadly, I haven't heard of that on Pbase, but Flickr, for all of its "Awesome shots" and "You have now won the Greatest Photo in the Universe Award" stickers that go out, it does seem to have a real tangible benefit.

I've only looked at Flickr as a way to hotlink to forums that don't host. I never looked at it as a place where I could benefit from publishing of any kind. Over the last year, I've added my photos to "Groups" admittedly as a feel good way of getting more "favorites" and feel that my work is being appreciated.
