A blooming snowstorm

There was a spring snowstorm last year on May 5th. It was real windy. I ran out to the field where the apple trees were all in bloom and captured some shots of them getting covered by the driving snow.

The spring flowers thread reminded me about these shots that I never cropped quite the way I was satisfied with. I finally got around to doing a fresh rework of this one tonight. What do you think?

Thanks Ken! Yes, I like that too. I was lucky that the snow hadn't gathered enough yet to cover the ground under the tree.

And the exposure (not always easy with lots of white in the frame) is spot on too. But the composition and subject are super special which are the things that really set it apart. Fantastic job!

Well, actually it did, that's the sad part It was around this time that we got a hard frost and well, that was the end of the blooms.

Thanks a lot, Mike, that means a lot! I was a little overwhelmed with the crop possibilities but eventually just had to follow my instinct. It feels a little risky to put something out there when you're never sure how others are going to receive it. So I appreciate the positive feecback! As for this storm/conditions, I got lucky and am glad I was there to catch the moment.
