Thanks Mike. I used a Sony a7riv in crop mode, Sony 600mm f/4 and 2X teleconverter. The avocet was without the teleconverter.

very nice! i haven't seen any yellow warblers so far this year. thanks for the info on your setup, i just got the a7riv and the 200-600mm for wildlife. i was wondering how good the teleconverters were.

You might check the reviews on the 200-600mm with converters. The 1.4 works very well on the 600 f/4. The 2X works pretty good on the 600 f/4 as long as there is enough light. (In fact, coming from the Canon 600 f/4, I was surprised that the 2X worked so well.) On the 200-600 I don't know how well the 2X will work, but the 1.4 should be good.
