I recognize the area Doug. The times I passed by this area was mostly mid day with harsh light and never bothered to stop and shoot. You had some nice light here.

This is so awesome Doug! I really like that view and that light. I have stopped there too as it's quite the cool place.

Very interesting rock formations! A bit too saturated for my taste, but that may be because of the harsh light. Would love to see it in better lighting.

Nice light for this view.

I used to drive US89 regularly as a USU college student driving back and forth from visiting my parents in Phoenix and know that view well. I don't think I ever drove past this spot at a time of day with good light.

Thanks for your input, Carlo. This is classic crack light. There was a small clear zone at the horizon when the sun rose which accentuated the color. Also, I was using Velvia 50 film which tends to increase the saturation even more. I actually reduced the saturation a little bit to get to this, but I understand that some photographers tend to be turned off by this amount of saturation.
