Laguna Sunset

Jim posted on Sunday afternoon that he was heading to Laguna Beach to shoot the sunset. It had been dull, grey, and gloomy all day but I figured what the heck at least I'd get a chance to meet our host and see a spot I had never shot at before. Didn't really expect any good images with the sky we'd had all day here in OC.

Well, I was fortunately wrong and the sunset exploded in color that just kept going and going and going.

Hey John,

It was great to meet up with you! I like this shot from when it was getting darker and our shutter speeds had to get longer.

And it was crazy how long that sunset color lasted, we literally commented at the time on how it seemed like this was the sunset that wouldn't end. It had gone on for maybe 30 minutes when we decided to just leave at the end as it was so dark and I know I was shooting in the 4 to 15 second range depending on the ISO I chose.

I am glad you could make it out at the last minute like that.

Trying to make me feel bad I didn't meet you guys eh? It's working. :(

Next time.

@J. M. Livingston. Sorry I missed this. I was at Corona Del Mar shooting the sunrise on Sunday morning. :D

Thank you guys, appreciate your comments.

We could see the color reflecting off the water and the wet sand, it was one of those times when you just know you're walking away with something special on your memory card.

Looking forward to more quick gatherings like this. :)
